I've always found it easier to pull the w/s out with the mirror still on. Lay the w/s on the glass rack, and remove the mirror while the w/s is laying flat. Put the mirror on the new w/s before you set it. This gives you a better view of what you are doing, and if you do loose one, it stays on the glass so you can find it.

I use a little screw driver and back pry from the back of the mirror button and comes
right out. I also rap a tape around the base so in case the ball bearings fly.
If you lose one, use a bb its the same size almost and fits great.

Don't transfer the gut's ball bearing's
etc.) I heat the bracket from the old w/s and remove it. Then remove bracket from new
w/s (if it has one). Then glue old bracket to new w/s, easy.

I used a pair of snap ring pliers after the mirror was taken
off, also to reinstall after w/s was set - no problem. I'll always remember the first one as the ball bearings went flying.

Definitely do it when the shield is out of the car. If you can deal with those side
moldings, you can definitely deal with those dang mirrors. p.s. whoever designed mirror assemblies for Lexus should be shot.

Take a 2-3 inch Phillips bit put it in a
driver heat the bit up with a torch. When its hot place it in the screw and
let the heat transfer to the loctite. Then loosen. You may have to do it a few
times with the bigger screws. This also works slick on the gm loctited screws.
Some of these brackets are urethaned on, wire or long knife works best on
these. BG
