I've done an older one of these with the antenna...have to
pull the top portion of the dash. There are several screws, and you have to pull
out the gauges (speedo, tach) to expose 10mm screw around center on dashboard.
This will give access to the antenna plug, which at least on older Porsche is in
dashboard, not a pillar... good luck. ZGglassguy
The
antenna lead is on right pillar - pull the visor to access. Some of these have
rock hard 'thane. Not too bad if you are replacing one, but a real stinker if
you are doing an r & i. Twist off mirror is a bear to remove; the last one
we did had to use a rag & channel locks to get it off. The Boxster is set up
the same way. BG
Thanks guys. Did it today. You're
right, the urethane was pretty tough, even in excess of 100 degrees F. Antenna
wasn't too bad, was able to stuff it in w/out pulling pillar, but I would
recommend pulling it just to be safe, not a cheap w/s. The molding set-up was
a bit disappointing. Ordered a new molding, but only got the piece that fits
to the glass, had to re-use the rubber flap that inserts into the groove. Took
about an hour and a half, mobile. Thanks again.
