AAMA Partners with
NGA GlassBuild America Show Starts in 2003 |
|
The National Glass
Association, organizer of The NGA Show™, already the largest annual
industry event in North America, has announced that the American
Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) has voted to be a partner
in developing a vastly expanded version of The NGA Show. The new
all-encompassing trade show serving the glass and fenestration industries
will be called GlassBuild America: The Glass, Window & Door Expo.
“The NGA is honored to have AAMA as a partner in our industry’s major trade show,” states Philip J. James, NGA president. “Together with AAMA and the Glass Association of North America (GANA), we intend for GlassBuild America to fully serve the needs of both the glass and window and door industries, just as our members have asked us to do.” AAMA’s board of directors voted unanimously to become a partner in future shows, starting in 2003. GANA voted to become a co-sponsor of The NGA Show earlier this year. (see related story) “The NGA Show is already recognized as the leading event for the architectural glass industry, and attracts the participation of many AAMA members,” points out Rich Walker, executive vice president of Schaumburg, Ill., based AAMA. “By joining together with NGA, AAMA will help assure that the new event also serves the needs of the residential window and door industry.” “We envision a new event that will serve as the leading showcase for all types of glass processing and window and door fabrication machinery,” states NGA’s James. “Additionally, it will feature the latest in residential window and door and architectural glass technology available from suppliers.” The trade show partnership with AAMA is the latest in a series of historic initiatives among the industry’s trade associations. NGA’s Window & Door™ Magazine was named AAMA’s official publication earlier this summer. And GANA, in addition to partnering with NGA as a co-sponsor of its trade show, named NGA’s Glass Magazine® as its official publication late last year. A leading trade association for the North American fenestration industry, AAMA’s 300 member companies include manufacturers and suppliers of windows, doors, skylights, and related materials and components. AAMA is made up of 10 councils. Within its Residential Products Group is the Residential Window Council, the Manufactured Housing Council, and the Skylight Council. Its Architectural Products Group consists of the Architectural/Heavy Commercial/Commercial Window Council, the Curtainwall/Store Front/Sloped Glazing Council, and the Skylight Council. Other divisions include the Door Council; Primary Material Councils devoted to Aluminum, Glass, and Vinyl; and two regional organizations serving the Southeast and West. Both AAMA and GANA will be involved in the next NGA Show which will be held in Miami Beach, Fla., March 14–16, 2001. |
