NAGS Flat Glass System Will Omit
'Benchmark Pricing'
New Software Will Help Set Standards
& Facilitate |
|
National Auto Glass
Specifications (NAGS®), a division of Mitchell International™, has
decided against providing 'benchmark pricing' in the final commercial
release of it's NAGS Flat Glass Numbering System this fall. The system is
primarily designed to attain two goals; bringing consistency to estimating
architectural glass replacement, and to facilitate e-commerce / EDI
solutions.
According to NAGS, third party software vendors and users who have previewed the system have been fairly receptive to the new System, which will allow users to "build an invoice" from standardized part numbers for both glass parts and labor. The Beta testing software product is in circulation currently, and does include the benchmark pricing data, which were based on market studies and consultations with flat glass industry experts. But when the commercial version is released, the pricing data originally set to be reviewed annually, will be omitted. Material and Labor Prices for the software module will be able to set by the users. NAGS had previously let it be known that it had received some feedback indicating concern about including any benchmark pricing in their software release. Autoglass Industry pricing is based primarily on NAGS Autoglass benchmark pricing. |
