The Guardian
Industries Carleton, Michigan, and Floreffe, Pennsylvania, float glass
facilities will receive DaimlerChrysler Corporation's Gold Award for
1999. In announcing the award to each plant, K.R. Galvin,
DaimlerChrysler Director of Exterior Quality and Supplier Management
said, "This award is presented to supplier facilities in
recognition of outstanding performance ... the achievement places your
plant among our highest-rated supplier locations."
Russ Ebeid,
president of Guardian's glass group said, "Recognition of the
consistent quality of our work by a customer such as DaimlerChrysler
is the most valuable accolade of all. This achievement demonstrates
the success of our corporate-wide quality initiatives and the
commitment of Guardian employees to continuously improve our products
and our processes to meet ever-higher standards."
The Gold Award
recognizes specific locations with high achievements in the areas of
quality, delivery, cost reduction, and special supplier sourcing. The
award will be presented to the plants at a ceremony to be held at a
future date.
