Carlite Technicians School Names New Instructor

Carlite Auto Glass Technicians School has a new instructor, Helmut Klassen, manager, Quality and Technical Services.

Klassen has 16 years experience with Ford and Visteon in technical, engineering, purchasing and production planning positions. He was operations manager for the Ford glass plant in China, Shanghai Fu Hua, and was most recently the trim area manager at Wayne Stamping and Assembly. Klassen will take over the Carlite school’s classes in the new year. He was on hand to observe the school’s November class.

"I look forward to building on what’s already here," says Klassen about his plans for the school. "I will be reviewing the curriculum and making suggestions and improvements, but Al Girard, Len Stolk, Ron Hymore and Bob Pierce have built an excellent foundation. I have big shoes to fill."

"The class has been going through an evolution," agrees Bob Pierce, manager, Marketing Programs, who is the School's current instructor. "I think that the fact that the class has been reinstituted and the positive comments fro the students bode well for the improvements Helmut will implement in the future."

Klassen is not new to teaching. He has been a mentor in business development and international studies at Queen’s University, Kingston, and taught at several colleges in Ontario.

Klassen will commute to teach classes from his home in Ontario. He can be reached by phone at 905-468-4119, by fax at 905-468-1543 and by e-mail at hklassen@visteon.com. Or you can write him at Box 307, Virgil, Ontario, L0S 1T0.
