Adco Tremshield 700 Passes Ford Test

Phase 1 Test Performed at 55 Degrees.

Raleigh, NC

ADCO, a Division of Astor Corporation, a leading manufacturer of adhesives and sealants for the Automotive OEM and Auto Glass Replacement markets, announces that the TREMSHIELD 700HV (high viscosity) system successfully completed the crash test retention requirements (Phase 1) of the Ford/Carlite division windshield adhesive testing program. Two critical elements of the Phase 1 testing are that the crash must be completed at 35 mph and 100% windshield retention is required.

The TREMSHIELD 700HV crash test was passed on April 22, 1997 at the Calspan Corporation Transportation Sciences Center (Buffalo, NY) using a 1996 Ford Taurus GL sedan (4,007 lbs.) with dual air bags and two test dummies. The original windshield was removed and a new windshield was installed by technicians from Safelite Auto Glass under the observation of Ford Motor Company and Tremshield / ADCO personnel. The installation was completed using TREMSHIELD 700HV dispensed by ADCO's new patent-pending Pow-R-PakTM gunning system one hour prior to the barrier impact crash. The installation and crash were performed at a temperature of approximately 55° F.
